How to Play Boons & Blades
Boons & Blades is recommended to play 1v1, but can be played with up to 6 people. Each player creates a deck of anywhere between 8 and 22 cards, with only 1 Boon in your deck. Set your Boon off to the side, then shuffle your deck. Flip a coin to decide who goes first. Here are some general rules that should be known before going over turns and attacking:
โข Consumable Cards can only be used once and gets put into a separate discard pile, unless the card says Eternal, or says to put it in the discard pile.
โข Boon Cards cannot be drawn on the first rotation of the deck. After your first shuffle, put the Boon in your hand and draw up to Five.
โข Effects Decrease by 1 at the start of your turn. (unless specified on the Effects List)
โข If you are playing with 3+ people, the turns goes clockwise, and you may attack who you choose.
โข If a Card’s first description line says “Uses“, that card cannot be played unless it has the necessary requirements.
โข Consider each Card with the same back as a card type. AE: The Plant pack has Plant type cards, and so on.
Attacking and Turns:
At the start of your turn, draw 5 cards. You may Play, Keep, or Discard any of the cards you drew. You may not discard more than 3 cards per turn. The cards play in order you set them down, to help with strategy and tactics. Any consumables you specifically discard and not use, do not get consumed, and just go into your normal discard pile. After you are finished with your turn, specify you are finished, and add up all the damage. Keep track of your effects and any other status’s you may have.
How You Win:
You win when all other opponent’s HP reaches 0, and you are the only one left.
Explaining the Cards:
Here is a quick rundown on what each number means in terms for playing the game. The number (or X) in the Red Circle is how much damage you do. The number in the Green Bubble is how much you heal from that card. If the Bubble is a different color, it adds a different stat (like how a Blue Bubble gives you Mana instead of Health). The number in the bottom left next to the words “Max: ” is how many of that card you can have in your deck at one point. You may not add more than that number in your deck before you start. The number in the bottom right is the UID, or the Unique Identifier Data-Tag. This number isn’t important in the game, and should just be ignored.
